Has Your Store Signed up to Receive EV Tax Credits for Your Customers?

The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) has set up a new way for dealers to apply for the electric-vehicle tax incentive on behalf of customers—passing the savings on directly as a discount.

The Win-Win Benefit

Potential EV buyers don’t have to front as much money out-of-pocket making it easier for them to purchase an EV.

Registration Required

To claim credits for customers, your store must be registered with the IRS Energy Credits Online Portal. Each store, based on EIN, is responsible for registering. The portal is used to generate time-of-sale forms for customers who purchase a sustainable vehicle. It also allows your store to opt in to advance payments and to aid in year-end reporting.
